Here in Canada I can buy "lead substitute" additives. It is available in
liquid form at most automotive part suppliers.
Without the additive You motors exhaust valves will get damaged sooner or
later. I have seen new engines ruined that way within 50 000 km of driving
on unleaded gas. By that measure You may have a rebuild on Your hands within
the next 10 years.
The long term answer to driving with unleaded fuel is of course hardened
Valve seats.

Dear all,

Here in Spain, the leaded petrol is becoming more and more difficult to
find, so I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about the
best additive solution (if required) to fill the 1997cc petrol engine
with unleaded petrol. The average milage of our Land Rover is below
500Km/year...

Thanks in advance!

Best wishes,

Paco
