Hi Diana,

we topped 40 something in Bungendore....spent the morning installing our
local
fire bridgade captains radios...put up antannas on the roof...etc hell it
was hot....
at 8.20 am we had 32C!.....luckly thus far no fires....spent all day
yesterday on
stand up at the fire shed....seems we have some dry electrical storms coming
so
its still a bit nervey at present.....we have head high grass "thick as" in
a paddock behind
our house so pumps are ready to run....

Went away with our series 1 disco down the south coast for a few days...did
a 1000K's
all up...went very well....our fuel economy was great....we spoke with
people who own toyotas camped near us and they burn twice the fuel we
do!.....we tow an off road trailer and it only adds
about 2.5 litres per 100 k.....so we did about 10.5 litres per 100
k's....pretty good considering the
weight etc.....

Seems I have a series one rescue to be conducted very soon...chassis in a
paddock with
shed full of all the parts right beside....haven''t seen it yet however an
keen to start a new project....

Cheers and stay cool....

Bruce from Bungendore......

PS my old CSIRO email address is now defunct...I told them where they can
stick their
job and what those idiot scientists can do with their ideas...start a new
job in January in the
Aviation industry.....
