I would have to agree with you there.  There are many burnt out wrecks =
in remote areas of Australia - the worst ones were the Mitsubishi Pajero =
(my apologies to the Spanish speakers, complain to Mitsubishi) the =
Matador in other places.  They had/have so many shields underneath that =
the grass gets caught underneath and "whoof" up they go - just the thing =
to spoil your day, particularly when it's hundreds of Km to the next =
village and the HF radio was mounted in the car.

Land Rovers are not immune to it either, particularly the Disco's.

No, almost certainly wouldn't have been that (but I haven't seen the =
film).

The bigger hole would simply have enabled more grass, etc. to get behind =
the grill.  Only effective way of stopping the build up of grass on the =
radiator is a very fine mesh - which you need to clear periodically.

On this note, another big problem is dry grass being caught under the =
car at the exhaust.  Enough of it, dry enough and you have no car!
