No.  It seems unlikely that this is related to TT.  If you just skip the
call to Template, do you see the same?  Also, is this all from a single
process, or are you running under a web server?

The interpreter doesn't do anything like that.

It does make a copy of the data you pass in, but it wouldn't call
methods on your objects when doing that.
