What makes you think it's a template?  Do you use a bunch of in-line
code or plugins?  TT itself doesn't usually account for much of the
processing time in a request.

I would suggest getting a profiler in there right away.  If you have
trouble getting Apache::DProf to work, you can try Devel::Profiler.
