I'm building web pages with TT.  Something in the tool chain seems to 
know what & and < are, but not what the math symbols like × 
are.
My source has text like:

This is an ampersand: &.
After being processed by ttree, it turns into:
This is an ampersand: &.

However, if I write:
This is a times symbol: ×.
I get the message:
  ! undef error -
undefined entity at line 13, column 38, byte 370:
This is a times symbol: ×.
===============^

If I write:
This is a times symbol ×.
Then the generated html file contains:
This is a times symbol ×.

Any idea which tool needs to be updated?
