Aren't we a troublesome lot ;->? Actually, I didn't realize you were
getting that many complaints/issues. Personally, I'd prefer to keep it
on and teach folks how to use it; though in keeping with my comparision
to 'use strict', it has to be turned on explicitly so maybe your idea is
best.

I guess it's a toss-up between which situation is worse for a new user
who is unfamiliar with the intricacies of database programming, esp. in
a networked environment.
