I've heard that too but have ordered loads of stuff from them including
series 3 rear crossmembers / 1/4 chassis, springs etc.
The most recent time the stuff didn't turn up on the day promised, but
a quick call to paddocks showed that the courier was at fault. Paddocks
staff chased the courier and it arrived the next day. They also kept
their promise to return my call when they had discovered what was going
on.
I would not hesitate to continue using them as they are very cheap,
give free postage on orders over 50 quid ordered via the web (which is
handy when you are ordering a rear
1/4 chassis !!!) and seem helpful when problems arise.
I'm sure there will be people who have had problems, but this is
probably true of all large mail order firms
I would add that you get what you pay for - if you buy a pattern
crossmember for a fraction of the cost of a genuine one, then don't
expect it to be as well finished - it'll do the job, fit ok, but may
have he odd paint runs or need a bit of tidying. Like I say you get
what you pay for.
I can't comment about how good they are if sending overseas.
