Well, I was offered = another by the garage but before we got round to fitting it, curiously = the noise level dropped after a few hundred miles and so whilst it is = still a bit whiney it's liveable with and seems to be improving all the = time. Someone else told me that it may not be the overdrive itself at all, = but rather a slight mis-mesh where it mates with the main gearbox / = transfer box. They had cured the same problem by fitting a couple of = shims somewhere so that the cogs lined up better.=20 Any thoughts, anyone ?
