Hi Cameron   The original fuel tank gasket was made of cork. You should be 
able to make this easily with come cork gasket paper. Alternatively it is 
still stocked here in the UK and is relatively inexpensive. Try Dunsfold 
Land Rovers   Make sure that the breather is not blocked. This consists of a 
small ball bearing and a spring that is held together with a split pin.
