To all you would be windscreen ornaments and kebabs looking for a =
steering wheel to be skewered upon. We only have to think about Lady =
Diana to understand that she and Dodi would still be alive if both had =
been wearing seat belts. =20

The security guard in the front passengers seat was the only one wearing =
a belt and was in the most damaged part of the car. He is the also the =
only one still alive and that was an armoured Mercedes..

Hi Guys,

Have to admit to not following the seatbelts thread but quite agree with =
Martin that they're a good idea. I've just fitted them to our '61 3.4 =
Jaguar and feel a lot happier driving with them, and of course for =
Jaguars you can get the original 'period' type of belt still.

Another anecdote is that a 'friend of a friend' died in an R Type =
Bentley when not wearing a belt. The coroner said that the car stood up =
to the head-on collision very well, but the the lady passenger just =
piled into the hard wooden dash and I think was killed outright; had she =
been wearing a belt she would probably have been hardly injured.

Best wishes to all on that cheerful note !

Anthony
