SER1 faq? (offer)

dear s1,

most of the questions I want to ask here are of such mind-bending 
obviousness that I am too embarrassed to do so and mostly just lurk. I 
therefore wonder whether there is a FAQ, official or otherwise, for 
this list?

If not, I would be happy to create and maintain one, if people were 
prepared to help me fill it.

(I'm a programmer and web developer, so this would be very 
straightforward for me. Unlike fixing my brakes.)
