That is an interesting point.

This project is also viable to some degree. Important would be to come up
with a list of what these parts are and then to sort them by manufacturing
capabilities needed.

Possibly some of the tooling is still laying around some where.

I have discussed in the LRO forum some time ago the possibility to
manufacture SII wings, starting with a wooden pattern and doing manually the
very simple panel work. At the moment I am building my own english wheel to
have a better equipped workshop. Once this is acomplished I will make a
pattern and a press tool for the side lights.

Some years ago I produced a front panel for a SIIA. Asimple press tool,
where the two halves were pulled together by 10 bolts, was sufficient to
form the head light part.

So, remanufacturing is a possibility, but cost and tooling would have to be
checked. I think having the tooling is more than half the mortgage.

Rather than grants, why not tool up and produce some of the more difficult
to get or expensive parts and make them available at low cost online direct
to registered owners? What would be more supportive of a marque than
knowing you can get parts and literature? (Probably some entrepreneurial
spirit will have the Chinese making parts for us - after all, most things
these days come from China, India, or Brazil ;-)
