I think Ulrico has made some very good points and it would be a good
idea to get your letter published in The Legend, so as to get some wider
coverage amongst the membership - or at least the Chairman etc, so as
they could perhaps push the idea more with Ford.

Thinking of Ford, I remember reading in a classic car magazine a few
years ago about Volvo making grants available to owners of vintage
Volvo's who were prepared to restore them. Now since Volvo are also part
of Ford, I wonder if we could get them to make grants available to us
Series One owners to help with maintenance and running costs - after
all, what better advertisement is there than hundreds of old Land Rovers
still running around on the roads. Perhaps Ford could start with grants
for Series Ones to coincide with the 60th Anniversary celebrations, and
maybe then cover the Series Twos for the 70th and Series Threes next etc
.....

Or maybe I had too much beer last night and am still dreaming......
