Nigel,
I haven't read the theft exclusions, but I always remove the rotor arm when
I leave it anyway. I have had mine insured with the NFU Mutual for years
(National Farmers Union). It's usually the cheapest for Land Rovers, fully
comp, protected NCD and is not limited mileage nor agreed value.
It greatly helps premiums if you live in a rural area. They have never
bothered about any mods as long as you tell them. These may or may not
increase the premium but I have never had a refusal.
As an example, all on the same policy, a 1997 300Tdi Disco + 1957 Series One
+ Ifor Williams 3.5ton flat bed trailer is £380. Premiums actually went down
at renewal this year by about £40. The Series One part of the premium is
about £120.
There seems to be nothing stopping my wife driving the Disco at the same
time as I
drive the Series One.
Regards
Martin
