Mike,
I have an MSR stove that also says it needs Coleman fuel / white gas, =
being reluctant to pay the vast price of Coleman fuel and buy seperate =
fuel for it I run mine on ordinary unleaded petrol and it seems to be =
fine on that provided I clean the jet and generator tube regularly. It =
can be run on Paraffin but requires a different size of jet to do so. I =
would assume that the Coleman stove will be similar and also burn =
Paraffin with the appropriate jet fitted - might be worth contacting =
Coleman to check it out.

Subject: SER1 OT Coleman pressure stoves / lamps
Hi all
Sorry for the off topic subject, but......
I need some expert opinion.
I picked up a Coleman Peak 1 stove, the instructions of which say that =
one must use "Coleman fuel" or "clean, fresh white gas".
"White gas" is not a term that is used in South Africa. What is it?
What other fuel(s) does / can one use - if any?
Also, my Coleman lamp (single mantle) uses paraffin. Can I use other =
fuels in the lamp - & if so, what?
I'm hoping to find a situation where I can use 1 fuel for both =
(simpler to pack for trips).
All input much appreciated.
Regards
Mike B
