Hello,
   Welcome to this group. I am also new, and coincidentally  "Restoring" a 
1957 88". Mine is original yellow paint , and although I have no idea of it 
history  was wondering if it was ex DOT. What have you found out about the 
past life of  your truck?  What condition did you find it in?
