I trust you understood that I meant that you need to purchase the 9/16" UNF
pins for the "rear springs" of an 80" from an engineering supplier because
they are shorter than the original Series III pins.

You CAN use the standard Series III pins on the wide front springs of a late
1950 through to 1953 80".

As an aside - You can also use standard Series III front springs on the
front of a 1950 thru 1953 80"

I am assuming that you are talking about the shackle pins

type which will
lift the suspension by about 1/4". But you should do both front and back.
If you go the series III route you will have to purchase the correct length
9/16" UNF HT pins from an engineering supplier.
