I've got a gearbox and 2 litre with flywheel housing assembly like that - I
was wondering if they came off the Series 2a 6 cylinder?

Hi Ian,

My '57, 2 litre had the Lucas M418G starter.  I rebuilt it (new brushes,
bushings, and turned the armature).  I then installed it on a late series 2
engine.  This starter has the two hole flange that fit and functioned on
both the 2 litre and the 2.25.  Perhaps my starter was not original to my 2
litre to start with?
