Advise on brake bleeding a 1952 80 inch land Rover needed.

Last week I did replace the master brake-cylinder and a few brake pipes.
Now I need to bleed the brakes.
So I have two questions:

1 What is the proper order to bleed the brakes?
- With what wheel should I start, what is the following one etc.?
2 I did try to bleed the brakes, but with the suction – bleeding device
(is there a proper name for it?), I was not able to suck some brake
fluid through the brake system.
I had enough brake fluid in the reservoir. All the piping is plumed as
it should (I suppose).
I did try to suck the fluid with and without the brake peddle depressed.

You advise is highly welcome!
