OK, it's the later (spread-bore) 2-ltr engine.
This has a better oil-filter system, and the filter is readily available
(I can dig out the crosslands part number from my shed :-) )

I never seem to get my engine to drive above 3,000rpm, but the
theoretical max is sonewhere over 4,000

My engine is quiet - so quiet that I have to listen for the exhaust not
to check if the engine is running, or sometimes there is a rattle from
the bonnet. The tappets should be quiet.
