Not sure Alex, however, I have fitted a Crane Cams
electronic system to my Rover V8. 

I mention it only because the original distributor can
be kept, and only the modern ignition module is
visible and the wire running to it. This of course can
be hidden somewhere if it offends the eye. 

Ask a few mechanics what they reccomend as good
quality and what to steer clear of. Crane Cams are
very good.
