Greetings all,

I just joined the list and thought I'd stand up to be counted. I've been a
long time subscriber to various coil sprung lists, Defender lists, and the
venerable series list for some years. The newest addition to the stable is
a 1957 Series 1 107 inch wagon. I don't own it, but have agreed to attempt
to restore/reassemble it for a friend. I'm in the early stages of learning
about this old beast, but hope to pick some brains in the near future.

The first question! Decoding the VIN shows that it's truly a 1957 107", but
I was unable to discern it's actual destination, being LHD. (VIN 134700XXX)
I'm guessing it's of North American origin, but there's what appears to be a
British number plate included in it's pile of parts. Does anyone have a
link to a reference on decoding this registration number?

Second question..... Are there many of these left?

Best Regards,
