HI Jim,

Greetings all,

Land Rover's records for shipments were lost decades ago - so it will be
difficult to know the destination/dealer of your 107. Land Rover can help a
little though. If you write to them they can trace the VIN down to the day
of production.

There were about 6000 107 SWs built, all but approx 300 were exported from
the UK. Thus they are rare in the UK and uncommon in the rest of the world.

There was at one time a web site and register dedicated to the 107SW,
operated by Les Lawrence. Unfortunately it has been off-line for many
months.

There are a handful of 107SW owners on this list. If you wish to see photo
of some 107s for reference, check out the Series One Garage at
www.seriesonegarage.com. here are some albums from the SOG:

I just joined the list and thought I'd stand up to be counted. I've been a
long time subscriber to various coil sprung lists, Defender lists, and the
venerable series list for some years. The newest addition to the stable is
a 1957 Series 1 107 inch wagon. I don't own it, but have agreed to attempt
to restore/reassemble it for a friend. I'm in the early stages of learning
about this old beast, but hope to pick some brains in the near future.

The first question! Decoding the VIN shows that it's truly a 1957 107", but
I was unable to discern it's actual destination, being LHD. (VIN 134700XXX)
I'm guessing it's of North American origin, but there's what appears to be a
British number plate included in it's pile of parts. Does anyone have a
link to a reference on decoding this registration number?

Second question..... Are there many of these left?
