To recap: if the carb is bolted directly onto the head (without an
intermediate inlet manifold), then you have a rover 60 head, not a land
rover head. It's good for 5-10% more power. Rivet-counters will notice.
If you have an inlet manifold and an SU carb, then you either have an
elbow, or a modified inlet manifold: the standard land rover manifold
takes a down-draft carb...

Having said all *that* - the only real difference between the rover 80
engine and the land rover engine is the head (and push-rods).
Question ('cos I've deleted your original message): what age is your
vehicle? The 2-ltr engine didn't come in until '52 - and then there were
two versions: one with a bypass oil filter and one with a pass-through
oil filter (which came into production in the late 50's:
