I need to hire a generator to provide power to the marquee at my son's
wedding reception in one of our fields. It has a 'ring' coupling, rather
than the 50mm ball I'm used to.
I've found the old NATO coupling that used to be on my Lightweight, and
(with shorter bolts) it will fit on the Range Rover. But will a modern ring
coupling mate with it safely? I know that (obviously) a Brockhouse will go
on OK, but is a Brockhouse ring the same size as the one in commercial use
in the UK nowadays?
If anyone has experience of towing (f'rinstance) a plant hire trailer,
compressor or generator on a NATO hook I'd like to know. Alternatively if
anyone can let me know the inside and outside diameters of a Brockhouse
ring, that could be helpful.
