That sounds like a good plan. I had been planning to use some sort of
waterproof box at the box for the cables to meet in. Possibly also
with a slightly larger one under the bonnet to house relays and fuse
boxes to improve the wiring reliability. Rapid electronics
(www.rapidelectronics.co.uk) do a range of IP65 aluminium boxes I'm
tempted to spray green to blend in.

I fear I'm causing sharp intakes of breath from the purists reading
this, but my wiring is in a sorry state after several owners have
chopped it about, and while I'd like the old girl to look more
original from the outside, I'd rather try and make it work as well as
I can. That said I hope there's not going to be anything stopping
someone putting an original loom in at a later date.
