Before you do anything that drastic just make sure the leak is not from the  
oil pipe connecting the head to the sump. If it is there then all you may need 
 is a new fibre washer.
Good luck on the rst of the trip and hope your wipers work as the forecast  
for Scotland is pretty wet "
