Phil, thanks for your reply - we made it to John o'Groats! 923miles - ear
plugs are recommended. We continued to monitor the leak and it remained the
same - no water in the oil etc..
Also, an over temperature problem was reduced by removing the thermostat.
The one wiper worked flat out in Scotland yesterday, but today the weather
has been great. The screen leaked a fair bit and also the doors.
A great experience....

Before you do anything that drastic just make sure the leak is not from
the oil pipe connecting the head to the sump. If it is there then all you
may need is a new fibre washer.
Good luck on the rst of the trip and hope your wipers work as the forecast
for Scotland is pretty wet "
