Dear all knowing ones.

My 1951 80" was originally a limestone colour (yes everytime I get to a base
coat its a limestone colour). However the steering column had been swapped
to one from a series 2. From my rolling chassis spare parts collection I
have the correct series steering box but it's colour seems to have been
canary yellow. Not very original I think.

My question is. Were the steering columns painted black or did they colour
code to the body work?

My vehicle was CKD and assembled by Annand and Thompson, Brisbane, if that's
any help.

I have a similar question about seat colours? From the remnants of the
original trim I think they were the same green as the original trim on the
majority of vehicles. This would make sense as the trim would come in the
CKD kit with 5 other vehicle sets. It is also the colour schemes on the 80"
in the Windom's Way movie on the mid 1950's.

Any ideas?
