Hello Michael,
last week you sent me a very detailed mail as to the things needed to be
done to get "the spark". You also mentioned a vacuum advance mechanism. I
would have assumed the device shown here is such a thing. The littel pipe
llinks to the carb, pretty much at the pont of lowest pressure in the
venturi pipe, judging from the input to the carburettor housing.

Later distributors may have vacuum advance devices
as used for emission control, or other features which
may make them unsuitable, even if they physically fit.
It would be best to retain the original unit if possible.
