Re: SER1 erratic Speedo

My 1955 86, as a matter of fact in pristine condition, never got the 
speedo in proper condition! In the beginning I removed the cable, it was 
worn and in addition to that the lubricant contaminated the interior of 
the mechanical device, aluminum disc an so. I changed the cable, I 
removed the dirt of the speedo, carefully, in the clean environment of 
my desk, using organic solvents. I dried everything carefully again, it 
was all perfect and shining! Then I remounted the stuff and surprise, 
surprise:
Now the speedo is erratic by some 15 Km/h only. In the beginning it was 
something like 0 and 120 km/h! So I got very proud of my job and I 
didn't touch the magical speedo for some 4 years from now. Team who 
works I don't change!
