Yes, it is a G76. What you describe fits with the sort of 'feel' of what is
happening. Brushes (if needed) I can sort easily but Dunsfolds had just 2
left of the 'sleeve and rubber' with no source for any further supplies so
I've ordered one on the assumption that it's that. (And also because sods
law says that if I didn't buy one now, it would fail next month by which
time a new one would be completely unobtainable)
The exhaust fell off today too (it sounds wonderful powering up our hill on
an open pipe!), and the hood needs repairing yet again so a bit of
fettling is in order generally. Still, for a 48 year old vehicle in everyday
use it needs very little attention really so I can't complain.
