Hi Jeremy,
thanks for the lead! Yesterday I managed to push the tubes back into their
original position and weld the cracks. It went well on the side you are
looking at. On the inside of the cross member the weld holds well but
doesn't look well. I had no access with any of the grinders I have, so had
to weld through the corroded metal and this never looks great.

Hi Ulrico,
your progress with repairing the cross member is great. Like so many of the
restoration jobs on these old Rovers, this one has been done before. There
are some photos in the Garage showing how Alan Trost in Brazil fixed damage
to the tow jaw and tubes area of the rear cross member. See them here:

Coincidentally Alan lived in Germany many years (I think he works for BASF)
and only returned to Brazil 4 years ago. His english is great as would be
