Hello Bruce, Ulrico, and All,
Thanks for the feedback! I have posted some
pictures that I snapped this morning to an album on
the Series 1 Garage.

(hopefully the Major won't cut that link in two)
Bruce: I would say that the general corrosion on the
engine isn't too terrible - that is why I felt it was
salvagable, even though it is seized. The
water/coolant that was left it in has done some damage
to the piping; there's a hole in the water pump
housing for example. Also, the exhaust valves are
looking pretty shoddy. The pistons and cylinder bore
look alright to me topside, underneath (couldn't get
the camera under there today, I will roll the engine
over tonight when I have help) there is a little more
corrosion on the pistons, and the connecting rods are
lightly 'furry' with rust.
Ulrico: Thanks very much for the explaination, it was
quite clear! I had not come across that method
before, but there is a lot of sense to it. Hopefully
the wall in the shed can handle the weight ;)
Thanks again in advance!
Take care,

Hi Adam,
How bad was the corrosion and general condition of the
block and Pistons etc?....like maybe out of 10, 2 out
of 10, 5 out of 10 Or maybe put up some pic's?.....
