Thanks eighty,

from what I have been told, the long references are the result of an ultra
intelligent pre standardisation exercise...

I will have a look with that source in Australia. Luckily I have a relative
in Sydney. May be I can talk him into some european holidays. Only for his
well being of course, not just to carry some bearings....

Ulrico

Ulrico

I guess that Rover slipped up when, in 1948, they didn't refer to the 1975
bearing classification system. That's the Poms for you, no clairvoyance.

In their 2004 catalogue (No 32) Four Wheel Drives in Melbourne Australia
((FWD) www.landrovers.com.au) advertise the flange end bearing the early
race for Rover Diffs at AU$44.00 (code D11A) (Today the AU$1.00 = GBŁ0.43
= Euro0.62 = US$0.75)

FWD have an awkward name for the *3490/3420/QCL7VQ492 race, they call it the
D16A and it is AU$49.50

FWD's number for the semi floating axle bearing is R30 and is also AU$49.50
the collar is R33 and is AU$33.00

To contact them for mail order sales the address is sales@xxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx

Hope this helps
