Hi Will,

No need to re-invent the wheel. It seems to me many of the newer list 
members are not aware of the  resources in the Series One Garage. It was set 
up back in '96 by members of list list as a repository for our body of 
knwoledge

Take a look at the Documents section of the Garage and you will find 
complete pdf files, jpg files etc  of owner's manuals, workshop manuals, 
sales brochures, reference charts etc.

These were contributed by past members of the list. Nice thing about the 
Garage is that any member can add new content at any time. No web admin to 
deal with.

For those into S1 Diesels, there's a nice copy of the 2l diesel brochure and 
Land Rover Service Newsletter #80 - 2l Diesel.

That certainly sounds like a good idea. What sort of volume of  material are 
we talking about? To be really useful they'd need to be  turned into 
searchable text.
