Some of you may recollect that I posted a reply from James Taylor which indicated that he would be willing to insert a small article In the Land Rover Enthusiast magazine to gauge interest levels in a reprint of his book "Original Land Rover Series 1". He asked that I forward suggested wording for this article. I propose to forward him the following for insertion into the magazine. Let me know of any suggested amendments: if I don't hear anything back I will E-mail the suggested insertion to James Taylor tomorrow. "Original Land-Rover Series 1" Some of you may have come across a gem of a book entitled "Original Land-Rover Series 1" written by a certain James Taylor. Invaluable to restorers and enthusiast alike, the problem with this book is that it is now out of print and as anyone who is trying to purchase a second hand copy knows, copies are both hard to come by and increasingly expensive to purchase. It has been suggested that attempts be made to get the book republished and to that end, members of "The Series 1 Garage," an internet forum created and maintained by Series 1 enthusiasts, have contacted the company holding the publishing rights. If there is sufficient confirmed interest, the publishing company may consider reprinting the book. To establish interest levels I would invite anyone interested in purchasing a copy of a reprint of the book to contact me at leawortley@xxx.xxx or on 028 3884 1287 in the evenings. If there is sufficient interest, we can pursue the possibility of reprinting the book.
