Subject: SER1 Installing Heater Control Valve

Here's another appeal from the SOG:

"Anyone out there know the best way to ensure that the thread on the heater 
control valve won't leak? (This is the bit that looks like a brass bath tap) 
Mine was leaking water which was getting into the spark plug sockets & 
causing the engine to misfire. I've got a new one, which I've tested OK, but 
I am not sure what to do about sealing it in .....

I have plumbers tape (PTFE) or I've got Gasket Sealant (forget the name, but 
it's the Hamerite branded stuff) - which is best to use, bearing in mind 
that I don't want the thing permenantly welded in there!

Ideas welcome.....many thanks!
