G'Day Shane and all,
Was pretty warm out at Temora on the weekend too, close to 40
yesterday, now I know why I bought a caravan with air conditioning. In
addition to the warm weather, they have a locust plague going on, most
flying was cancelled due to the bugs gooing everything up. Does the same
for cars too if you are not very observant of the temp guage (and have
not put gauze over the radiator intakes). First warning of the locusts
ahead was on the trip over when all of the cars coming towards us were
totally covered in dead hoppers.
We need to find a way of harvesting them and exporting them to
countries where they are regarded as a delicacy. Pehaps they could be
gathered in grain headers as they already are when wheat is being
harvested. The grain board will only accept wheat with a certain amount
of contaminats such as grasshoppers and other seed.
Cheers
