Also, at one time the Snowy Mountain Scheme had the largest fleet of Land Rover
anywhere in the world, at one stage over 700!! Was the first organisation in the
world to make it manditory to wear seat belts, and forced Land Rover to improve
their brakes, as some vehicles were going through a set of shoes in less than a
week!! When Rover refused to do anything to improve the brakes, the head of the
scheme grounded every Land Rover they had until Rover did something about it.
