The box for the 80" is very different to the box on an 88".  The SII and SI
86" and 88" bolt to a vertical plate off the chassis, the 80" bolts in a
different plane, directly to the bulkhead.  The brake and clutch levers are
also sided.

I think you are giving yourself a huge amount of additional work and then
your VIN will be out of sequence.  I would be looking for a RHD 80" locally
and advertising the current one in a LHD African country, in Europe or the
Americas.

If you are committed to the swap, I do have most of the parts from a damaged
1950 RHD rolling chassis but not a spare steering box.  However the cost of
shipping to Africa would be more than I think you would want to pay.

Good point Tom. never thought of looking at the parts manual. As for the
steering column, its not a problem as I currently have a SII RHD column &
box fitted. At some point in the past a PO must have needed to replace the
column. I was going to use is this way just to get the vehicle on the road
and then source the correct parts later. Now I will just have to source a S1
RHD box & column instead of a LHD one.
