Riaan - the major item not on your list is the steering box, it is
different for LHD and RHD. Maybe it would be easier to swap the whole
firewall, including steering column and box and pedals, since that is
probably easily available in your country?

The handbrake doesn't need to be changed afaik.

Hope you still get a certificate, though, it wouldn't be a problem for a
RHD in Austria (where we have RHD traffic and most cars are LHD).

Due to changes in legislation and a whole lot of red tape it appears
that I 
may be unable to get a roadworthy certificate for my S1 because it is a
LHD. 
I am persuing a number of avenues but the chances are rather slim.

Converting to a RHD will solve the problem.

How much work would this entail?

As far as I can see:
Move steering relay to RH side
Change the drop arms (luckly I have a set for a RHD)
Move the steering column and box
Move the pedal bushes to the RH side (or make new ones)
The pedal arms seem to be universal
Relocate the brake master cylinder
Modify the handbrake
Move some of the wiring
Swop the rear springs over as they are sided.

Advice and suggestions greatly appreciated
