Hi Steve,
My first reaction was the same as Allan's, that partial clutch engagement
could be discounted given that there is no problem in the lower gears.
*However*, only 3rd/4th are synchronized in our Series I's, and the
synchro would block when the sliding gears could still be forced through,
so you may be on to something (and yes, we're working on the sleeve -- no
sample shaft to rev-engineer yet).
