    Hi Mark,
        I have installesd a 2.25L in mine and have had no problems. =
Remove the 2L engine mounts from the frame and the 2.25L fits straight =
in. I didn't try and fit the series1 transmission I had a trans out of a =
series 2A which I bolted up with the overdrive. Are LHdrive or RHdrive. =
Anyway if I can be of any help I can give you what ever assistance I =
can.=20
    Peter.

      Hi everyone,=20
      What do you need to do/modify to put a 2.25L (petrol) engine into =
a 58 88"?
      Would the the engine fit straight on to the series1 Bell Housing =
and the engine mounts, and would the electrics be a nightmare?=20
      If anyone has done this ,is it a straight forward job?
      cheers=20
      Mark

      Ps. I was watching the Gods Must be Crazy the other night and if =
anyone has seen the movie, Do you Know what Make and modle of winch =
"He" has attached to his series 1=20

      Pps Thanks you for the responces to the the electrical problems i =
posted a couple of days ago. =20
