  Hi Mark,
I have installesd a 2.25L in mine and have had no problems. Remove the
2L engine mounts from the frame and the 2.25L fits straight in. I didn't try
and fit the series1 transmission I had a trans out of a series 2A which I
bolted up with the overdrive. Are LHdrive or RHdrive. Anyway if I can be of
any help I can give you what ever assistance I can.
  Peter.

    Hi everyone,
What do you need to do/modify to put a 2.25L (petrol) engine into a 58
88"?
Would the the engine fit straight on to the series1 Bell Housing and the
engine mounts, and would the electrics be a nightmare?
If anyone has done this ,is it a straight forward job?
    cheers
    Mark

Ps. I was watching the Gods Must be Crazy the other night and if anyone
has seen the movie, Do you Know what Make and modle of winch "He" has
attached to his series 1

Pps Thanks you for the responces to the the electrical problems i posted
a couple of days ago.
