The thread concerned whether or not the II/IIA coble would fit -- it does
-- so it wouldn't help you re a misreading speedo.
The speedo head -- the instrument with the dial -- doesn't know anything
about the axle ratio or the rolling radius of your tyres, so it has to be
designed for a specific combination. If you change either -- on a Minerva
from 4.70 axle ratio or 7.00-16 NDT military tyres -- your speedo will
read incorrectly. The most likely reason for reading high by more than 5%
(the typical design tolerance) is smaller tyres, although that wouldn't
explain so large a difference. Is the needle steady at a given speed, or
does it bounce up and down? A bouncing needle suggests something is
wrong, like a kinked cable.
