Hi Lyndon,

I agree - no question is ever too dumb to ask. And all should have the
patience to assist others, even if it means repeating one's self a few
times.

Over the 10 years this e-mail group has existed the more knowledgeable
Series 1 owners have taken turns informally at advising other members. As
time passes some of these fonts of wisdom move on and others fill the role.
This hading over of the torch appears to happen by its own.

I would hope that we never reach the point where a FAQ replaces our on-line
banter. Many, many members are from far flung lands and whose kowledge of
automobilesis limited, where Series 1s are scarce, where english is not the
home language. Our live on-line talk produces answers for these people
really fast. The joy of ownership is largely derived from club membership,
socializing, making friends and expanding ones Series 1 knowledge. As we do
here.

In the big picture of things, this Land Rover mania we've all caught levels
barriers and contributes to global unification.

Cheers to that!

PS:

To Michael Carradine (who actually mantains the computers that host this
list) - has the 10th anniversary passed yet? It must be close.
