I can definitely recommend millers "Syntran" for gearboxes (and other
gears).
I used to use it when I could get hold of it easily... and it made my
boxes quieter and smoother....
It was recommended to me by a pal who used to run a big perkins diesel
through a Series II 'box - and he used to chew through them every few
months until he changed to Syntran...
