I have been trying to keep up with this thread while on Holiday. I am
working on a project called PINT which would provide a simplified version
of Tangram with less magic and more extensibility. CDBI provides the base
along with a load of subclasses providing new relationships (Richard Hundt
has written an IsA relationship already, and I plan a keyed relationship
as well) and attributes (flat intrusive array, vector, bitmap, boolean,
intrusive hash, external array, external hash, and serialised data
structures).

Hopefully I can take onboard some of the ideas that don't fit very well
into CDBI but might work with PINT. Looking at generating database schema,
I should be able to build a cdbi/pint schema (both classes/relationships
and database structure) from a Druid xml file using code from Autodia, in
the same way I should be able to slurp class and database schema from dia
and umbrello UML xml/xmi files.

Next week I should have a 0.01 release with some new syntax and
attribute/relationship types, right now I have complex attributes going
into the db, but have broken where the id is set for the object which
means I can't get an object back of of the db.

cheers,

A.
